Interesting story in today’s newspaper about DeSoto County officials establishing the A.W. Bouchillon Institute for Community Planning, marking 50 years since the county and its municipalities first delved into community planning.

I’m glad DeSoto’s leaders decided to try to control their community’s growth and development way back then. I can only imagine what DeSoto would look like today if they hadn’t.
