At least we know Nikki Tinker believes in recycling

The Ninth Congressional District race began to heat up a little this week as Nikki Tinker, who is viewed as incumbent Steve Cohen’s main rival, began airing her first television spots.
I saw one of them, in which Tinker speaks earnestly of spending part of her childhood on her grandmother’s porch, waiting for government benefits checks to arrive.
The only trouble is, several people have told me that’s the exact same ad Tinker aired when she was running against Cohen two years ago.
(Maybe I missed seeing the ad then, or had simply forgotten about it.)
But that being the case, I have a suggestion for how Tinker can help freshen up any future ads she might air during this campaign.
If she could just end each ad with a shot of her holding the front page of the newspaper bearing the current date, it would be quite helpful.
That way voters would at least know if she’s looking toward the future, or living in the past.
