Most Guilty Pleasure

Winner: Spindini

With a tag line of “simply elegant Italian,” Spindini may have undersold its power as the readers’ top choice as a guilty pleasure. Judd Grisanti (yep, he’s one of the Grisanti restaurant dynasty) opened the doors of his new venture at 383 South Main in February, and the raves continue to pour in, both for the sleek and elegant décor as well as the luscious dishes — basically a spin on traditional favorites. The guilty pleasures include wood-fired pizzas topped with lobster, a heady appetizer called Tuscan Butter which blends goat cheese and mascarpone in a rich fondue served with focaccia, and Brick Chicken, a roasted chicken stuffed with proscuitto, spinach and smoked mozzarella.

“The ambiance is inviting, there’s a lot of activity going on in the whole building,” says Grisanti. “I would imagine the guilty pleasure is that you’re being entertained the whole time you’re here.”

383 South Main, 578-2767. Open 5 — 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday; 5 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday.
