Sports fans, take heart; Randy Malone may be moving to Philadelphia, but he will continue to write about his views on Memphis sports from the City of Brotherly Love. Soon after readers chose memphissport.typepad.com/randy as the Most Bookmarkable Blog, the reporter for Memphis Sport magazine announced in a blog entry that he is moving east.

“The guys at Memphis Sport think it’s a good idea for me to keep writing it,” says Malone, who has been writing the blog since late 2006. “(It) wouldn’t be a good idea to win … and then close up shop. So, the blog will remain.”

As fervent fan of Memphis sports, Malone no doubt counts that as welcome news. “When you’re a fan of a particular team, as I am with the University of Memphis, and you have the opportunity to write from a fans perspective on something like a strong run in the NCAA Tournament, it makes for something very special.”
