Winner: Hope Presbyterian Church
In just over 10 years, Cordova’s Hope Presbyterian Church has grown from a relatively small 350-people congregation to an average at 7,000 at weekly worship services.
But Hope doesn’t just count heads; it puts its members to work improving Memphis and the world.
Though it is located in the suburbs, Hope does a lot of urban ministry work, mentoring students, running a clothes closet, and, through its Oasis Hope House project, building homes for the needy. And through the church’s Global Outreach Ministry, Hope members are able to affect lives in places as far away as Mexico, Ecuador, and Kenya.
