Winner: Dr. Carol Johnson
Whoops. Well, somehow we think the weight of Dr. Carol Johnson’s Memphis Most award will not be enough to keep her from going to Boston, where she recently accepted the job of head of that city’s public schools. In just four years, Johnson made real strives in the Memphis City Schools system, including moving more than 100 schools off the failing list and implementing the vision statement "Every Child. Every Day. College Bound."
Finalists: Cindy Schepman, Dr. Shirley Raines
