“I think (being the readers’ choice) definitely has a lot to do with the longevity of the people,” says Tracey Rogers, news director at WMC-TV Channel 5. After all, weatherman Dave Brown has entered his fourth decade at the station, with anchor Joe Birch and sports director Jarvis Greer following closely behind with 29 and 28 years respectively. “I think that (the employees of WMC) have had a special relationship with (the Mid-South) for a long time.

“It says a lot that viewers recognize what we do,” Rogers says.
