Winner: Bellevue Baptist Church
It’s only fitting that the largest church in town has one of the biggest choirs. Every Sunday, the 400-person strong Bellevue Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir performs in two services backed by a 100-person orchestra. Performing a mix of traditional and nontraditional music, the choir, led by minister of music Jamie Parker, has been known to move people as strongly as the service.
“It’s fun to preach after them,” says Bellevue Baptist pastor Dr. Steve Gaines. “A lot of times when I take the pulpit, the congregation is standing giving an ovation for what they’ve just heard.”
