Most Bona Fide Blues Club

Winner: B.B. King’s

It makes sense that the winner of our Most Brilliant Blues Musician award should also be the namesake of our Most Bona Fide Blues Club winner. Since it opened in 1991, B.B. King’s has been one of the most popular nightspots on legendary Beale Street. And while much of the street has drifted into showcasing more and more rock and dance music, B.B.’s the venue on the street that is most steadfastly devoted to the blues, with regular appearances by regional favorites like Preston Shannon, and, a couple of times a year, the man himself.

139 Beale St., 524-5464. 11 a.m.-12:30 a.m. Mondays-Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.- midnight Sundays; memphis.bbkingclubs.com.
