Most Memphis Nights

“Thank you, thank you very much.”
-Elvis Presley

Photo by Mike MapleAfter a long day of touring Memphis, rediscovering much, more and most, Elvis has earned a chance to sit down and relax.

What better place than Swig, mixer of Memphis’ Most Masterful Martini. Bartender Jeff Barber shakes, rattles and rolls a Blue Moon martini for the King of Rock. Its electric color matches his jumpsuit.

Down the street at the Flying Saucer, home of the Most Boundless Beer Selection and Most Frosty Mug, Elvis is pressed into service posing for pictures with tourists and police officers out celebrating promotions.

He finally asks for a beer and settles down at a table.

A passerby gives him an odd look, and at first, he’s taken aback. Then he shakes his head, saying, “Sometimes I forget I’m in this suit.”

In Memphis, Elvis never really left the building.

He’s the Most.

The Commercial Appeal offers hearty thanks to Danny Spinosa of Cordova, Elvis tribute artist extraordinaire. See memphiselvis.com.
