The attempted robbery of Roustica has been solved. Two employees picked the man out of a line up last wed the 8th. He will be serving atleast 12 years in prison. All of this old news is not helpful to a small business. I wish reporters would take time to get their stories straight with actual facts before scaring the public even more.

In my opinion, Level 2 has come a long way. Being that I am in my early 20's, I was one of those who attended the old PREMIERE on a few occassions. I must say that Level 2, is NOTHING like how it used to be! I am actually very pleased with the new dress code, strick rules, and laid back atmosphere. Back in the day, you couldn't pay me to go there, unless it was a special occassion(a friend's birthday), because it was very GHETTO& full of very ignorant females and males. Now, when I go, I actually enjoy myself. It is a mixture of all age groups& with them changing the entry age to 21&up, it really has made a difference. I think the security are doing a wonderful job in keeping it's customers safe, strick on the dress codes, and illegal activity inside the club. Yes there may a few instances where something wrong could happen, but that's anywhere you go. It is not the club's fault that some of us African Americans, no matter how upscale a club can be, just don't have any home training& don't know how to act. But overall, I am glad that Level 2 is open, it's gives us more of an option, of places to go, and just hang out. And I have been there almost every other Saturday, since it's opened. I haven't had any problems nor have heard of any serious problems since they have opened their doors. But, when you go somewhere, you have to always go with an open mind& I guarantee you, Level 2 is on the top 5 clubs in Memphis. Try going to Fire& Ice and the Plush club& you will be thanking the owners of Level 2 for opening their newly remodeled nightclub.

I am on staff at Bardog and just wanted to let you know that Duncan is not and has not been involved in the Bardog venture for quite some time. Demitrie Phillips is the chef in charge. But thanks for the mention on your website. We're counting on a lot of neighborhood support.

Mark,

I made a 4 part documentary on this years 2008 Gibson Guitar design for the Blues Ball posted on my myspace page if anyone wants to see what I've been doing with my creative madness. It's called "The Red Velvet Cupcake." Looks kinda like alot of Fireworks with a Doorbell in a Gibson Guitar baked in Bread.

Thanks,

John Streeter

We know robbery and burglary are separate crimes, robbery involving a person and burglary involving a structure or building. In 2006, Memphis topped a list of 311 metro areas in violent crime, which includes homicide, rape, robber and aggravated assault. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2007/sep/27/memphis-leads-us-in-violent-crime/

Also, Newsweek ACTUALLY IS talking about two separate things, if you read closely. HIGHEST ROBBERY RATE + 8,000 burglaries per 100,000 people = dangerous.

The article says Memphis has the "the highest robbery rate in the country, with more than 8,000 burglaries for every 100,000 people." Robbery and burglary are two separate crime classifications. I think Memphis's robbery rate is more like 2,500, about half the robbery rates for Philadelphia and Houston.
